Old Allentown Board Recruitment

Greetings Members,

We are currently accepting nominations for the 2025 Board of Directors. 

Interested individuals are encouraged to submit a personal biography by November 30th. A nominating committee will review and choose qualified individuals for a ballot to be distributed in January 2025 for board elections that will take place at our annual meeting.

We are looking for individuals to join our board who desire to help us carry out our mission to preserve and foster pride in our neighborhood through communication, education, and social interaction and to promote urban living, diversity, and Allentown’s architectural legacy and heritage.

 Role of an OAPA board member is to:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the organization

  • Ensure that the organization is reaching our mission and goals

  • Help with outreach efforts in the neighborhood

  • Protecting the architectural legacy unique to our district

 Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Ability to commit to one monthly board meeting - 1st Thursday of every month (may be changed with board approval)

  • Terms are two years

  • Actively participate in at least one of our neighborhood committee

  • Ensure the organization has the resources it needs to accomplish its mission

  • Help spread awareness and engage other residents to participate in our organization
