Historical Architectural Review Board (HARB)

HARB reviews proposed new construction, demolitions, and exterior alterations to structures within the historic districts, and makes recommendations to City council based on HARB’s Guidelines for Historic Districts.

Allentown Preservation League (APL)

APL is an all donation, all volunteer organization. If you have old house parts — doors, windows, trim, hardware, etc. — you are no longer in need of, bring them in! Keeping building materials out of landfills is good for the environment and your wallet! Donations are tax deductible, just ask for a form when you drop off your items.

Shade Tree Commission

The care and maintenance of all shade trees between the curb and the sidewalk is the responsibility of the homeowner. The City of Allentown’s Shade Tree Commission maintains jurisdiction of all shade trees or trees planted in the public right of way.

Bureau Recycling & Solid Waste

Visit the Bureau of Recycling and Solid Waste for information on recycling and trash removal, SWEEP ticket enforcement, yard waste disposal, electronics recycling, Graffiti Busters, and more. Please help keep Allentown clean. Check before you put it on the curb for collection.
